  INTRODUCTION
  The present research is devoted to the investigation of implicit and explicit invective in English language political discourse. The problem of invective and its functioning in political communication attracts the attentions of many scientists of the fields of linguistics, intercultural communication, political linguistics and other sciences. The high interest towards invective in political discourse is stipulated by the fact that this type of word representation of aggression or establishing a contact is not usual in the institutional political discourse. Nevertheless, today it is possible to observe a lot of political contexts where both implicit and explicit invectives are used in different function: to establish a contact or to show the politician’s aggression.
  The relevance of the present research consists in the fact that invective used in political discourse is a modern language phenomenon which is not fully researched at the present moment. The increased usage of invectives in political debates, speeches and media texts shows the need for investigation of such form of aggression in this type of modern political discourse.

  CHAPTER 1. INVECTIVE AS AN OBJECT OF RESEARCH IN THE FRAMEWORK OF ENGLISH-LANGUAGE POLITICAL DISCOURSE
  1.1 The Concept, Functions and Classification of Invective Means
  In the modern linguistics special attention is paid to the change of literary norm of the English language and many other languages. It is known that in today’s world the process of fusion in the system of functional styles is actual. This process is known as democratization of norms, i.e. converging of written communication including political discourse with colloquial and extra occupational colloquial communication. A lot of stylistic and genre limits existed earlier are today less important in different types of discourses. For example, comparatively lately political discourse was standardized and strict. Consequently, invectives and other rude and obedient words couldn’t be used in such types of texts. But in the modern communicative process one can observe harshness of speech. In different groups of people invective vocabulary is used more often than earlier. Such processes can be observed in different types of discourses, and especially in political discourse.
  The current stage of the existence of political communication in mass media and in the Internet space is characterized by the freedom of thought and as a result by verbal aggression of high intensity [27; 58; 45]. It is dictated by the tension in the whole world including social, economic, political, interethnic spheres of the modern society. Moreover, the increased verbal aggression is stipulated also by great interpersonal conflicts and is reflected in destructive verbal actions and representations in different types of discourses including political discourse.
